The Somerville Cares Fund 2.0
The Somerville Cares Fund 2.0 has ended as of September 9, 2024. We are no longer accepting new applications.
The City of Somerville is Partnering with CAAS to create the Somerville Cares Fund 2.0. This fund provides up to $2,000 of direct financial assistance to households for a wide range of needs, including food, clothing, utilities, childcare, and other necessities.
Am I Eligible?
You’re eligible to apply if:
Your household receives other public benefits like: Masshealth; TANF; SNAP; free or reduced lunch; Medicare Part D subsidies; SSI; Head Start; Section 8; fuel assistance; or
You earn less than 65% of the Area Median Income (AMI); and
You’re currently a resident of Somerville
Immigration status does not impact your eligibility. Undocumented residents are welcome to apply for assistance.
Types of Assistance
This funding can be used for a variety of needs, including: Food, clothing, utilities, and other necessities; Health care costs, such as medication; Transportation and car expenses, such as gas or repairs, and; Childcare assistance.
Funds will be distributed in the form of a $500 check for each adult in the household, with a maximum amount of $2,000. CAAS can provide resources on cashing the check if it is a barrier to accessing these funds.

Assistance is available as part of a limited funding opportunity from the state. We will continue accepting applications until September 30, 2024, or until funding runs out. These funds will not be replenished, so apply as soon!
